It is an industry with a very high rate of technological innovation, where digital technology, automation and artificial intelligence play a crucial role. However, it is perceived by the younger generations as boring and unappealing.
Argi and Acimga, in collaboration with the students of the three-year degree course in Language, Culture and Digital Communication at IULM University, are promoting A printless world, a path of reflection to explore the themes of the role of the press in our society, often taken for granted and undervalued, and the relationship between the press and digital tools in all aspects of our lives.
In the months leading up to the exhibition, the youngsters will work on the creation of various communication outputs that express the value of printing, the younger generation's interpretation of the roles of printing and the digital sphere in our society, and more generally the role of the print industry and its appeal as a possible career path. The students have already participated in a purpose-built course on printing technologies and applications and are preparing to visit a number of printers during the course of the year to experience the production of different types of printed matter first-hand. The outputs created by the students will then be presented during Print4All.
